This is another great villa in the Praia da Luz area, set in beautiful and well maintained mature gardens of approximately 1 acre. The villa is located towards the centre of this lovely plot, laid to lawn, flower and shrub beds, orchard area and larger trees and as such benefits from a very high degree of privacy whilst having the luxury of being only a few minutes walk from the beach at Praia da Luz.
The villa has its own private heated swimming pool with large secluded sun terrace and poolside cabana. This area has bar, barbeque, dining area and fridge and is framed by a beautiful bourgainvillea. Down a few steps from the pool terrace and across a lawn is the private tennis court.
Praia da Luz
Praia da Luz is a friendly family orientated resort with a wonderful long, wide sandy beach. It has plenty of bars and restaurants, but no noisy nightlife. Restaurants are available for all tastes ranging from beach bars and bistros to plush, more formal restaurants for fine dining.Children are always welcomed.
Only a 10 minute drive away is the lovely town of Lagos. It is widely recognised as one of the most attractive towns on the Algarve with its old walled centre, marina and bayside promenade. It also has several lovely beaches. Lagos has a lovely pedestrianised town centre which is wonderful for a lively evening stroll, with stalls,music and street entertainers. Slightly further afield, but still within a 30 minute drive are the south westerly point of Europe, Cape St Vincent and the historic nautical town of Sagres.
The villa can very comfortably accommodate 8 people in its two double and two twin bedrooms.All bedrooms are on the ground floor.
The main bedroom has a double bed, wardrobes and dressing table as well as a seperate dressing area and en-suite bathroom.It has double French doors opening onto the pool terrace and windows opening onto the orchard area.
The second bedroom is set at the opposite side of the villa and has a large window onto the orchard area.It has a double bed and chest of drawers. There is ample wardrobe space in the hallway just outside the bedroom . This bedroom has its own large en-suite shower room.
The two remaining bedrooms are almost identical twin bedded rooms and again both have double French doors onto the pool terrace.
There is a third, family bathroom off the main hall.
The main living accommodation is on the first floor. There is a large light airy lounge with ample comfortable seating on sofas and armchairs. This room has splendid views to the sea and the cliffs overlooking Luz Bay. There are 3 sets of double Fench doors onto the large terrace which runs along the entire sea facing side of the villa and shares these lovely views. The terrace has two large tables which can each seat 8 people, one outside the lounge on an open area of terrace and the second outside the dining room on a covered area. The lounge itself has a TV with satellite feed and video, DVD, CD/radio/casette mini-system and bookshelves with a selection of books and games.
Next to the lounge and again with French doors opening to the terrace is the dining room with a circular table that seats 8. This room also has doorways to the lounge and kitchen.
The kitchen is large, light and furnished in traditional Portuguese style including blue and white tiling. It has all necessary modern conveniences including gas/electric hob and oven, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave etc.There is a door to a small rear terrace with a small table and chairs which can make a lovely spot for breakfast, looking out at the orchard.
Upstairs there is also a cloakroom with toilet, basin and bidet.
The pool is large at 10x5m and has gentle steps in at the shallow end (Roman end). There is a pool cover on a roller that can be used over-night or when the pool is not in use to maintain higher water temperatures. When pool heating is requested we aim for a water temperature of 28-29 degrees centigrade. Surrounding the pool is a large pool terrace with ample space for sunbathing and also areas which provide shade.There are sun-loungers with cushions and a parasol.
The pool area can be accessed from the three poolside bedrooms or from the lounge terrace via steps. There are wide steps leading down to the lawn and then tennis court from the pool terrace.
Poolside Cabana-Bar BBQ and Dining Area
Next to the pool, on the edge of the pool terrace is the poolside cabana. It is a covered area which stays delightfully cool in the heat of the day. There is a bar and built in barbeque with an adjacent two ring gas hob. In the cupboards under the work surface there is a good supply of plastic crockery, cutlery and cups for poolside use. There is a sink with hot and cold water and a small fridge with freezer compartment. Next to this food preparation area there is a large tiled table with bench seating to one side and free standing chairs the other.
This area makes outdoor living easy and the fridge is ideal for drinks and ice-creams by the pool. As with most of the villa the pool and terrace area enjoys a high degree of privacy and is not overlooked.
Tennis Court
The tennis court is located in the garden across the lawned area from the swimming pool. It is orientated North South to avoid the glare from the early morning or evening sun. Guests should bring their own rackets and tennis balls.
Gardens
The lovely mature gardens has a lawned area with a variety of palms and sub-tropical plants. There are large areas of flower bedding below the pool,alongside the driveway and next to the lawn. There is also an orchard area with a variety of fruit trees (oranges, lemons,grapefruit, satsumas, apples, loquat, fig and even a banana palm) and the orchard is separated from the villa by a splendid rosemary hedge.
Not only are the gardens themselves a delight, but their size, mature planting and the fact that the villa and pool are located towards the centre of the plot affords guests with a very high degree of privacy.
Balcony Terrace
The large terrace off the lounge and dining room has a lovely view and two large tables.
